Reference and Instruction librarians engage with individual/groups of students, staff, and community members in a wide variety of information seeking activities, with a focus on developing lifelong information literacy skills. Librarians are responsible for selection of library materials, and provide the college with an annual assessment of student learning. Librarians work in a highly collaborative environment that requires close working relationships with library colleagues dispersed on four campuses, as well as campus colleagues in the library, other academic departments, student services, and administration. PCC librarians serve on library and college committees. Additionally, they participate in state/regional library groups and associations.
