The Director is responsible for the management of the Library in accordance with the policies established by the Library Advisory Board and the Board of Commissioners. They monitor and evaluate the progress of the Library and make adjustments in objectives, work plans, schedules, and resource commitments.

The Director also represents the Library to local governments, civic and community organizations, professional associations, and residents.
