The purpose of the Open Educational Resources (OER) Specialist (Library Technician 2) position is to assist the eLearning & OER Coordinator in implementing the UO’s textbook affordability and open educational resources initiatives, including the Textbook Affordability Strategic Plan (https://library.uoregon.edu/oer).

The OER Specialist assists the coordinator in locating and recommending low-cost solutions for faculty, analyzing available textbook affordability data, and creating outreach materials that include data visualization. The specialist also provides support for faculty using the OER publishing platform, PressBooks, including document clean up, uploading, formatting, and minor editing support.
