The Library Associate “At Large” is a paraprofessional position that provides library support services at seven community libraries including the Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mariner, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, and Mukilteo libraries. These libraries are characterized by the highest population density, most racially and linguistically diverse population, and are the busiest in the Sno-Isle Libraries District.

The position provides skilled paraprofessional library support services that contribute to the Library District’s effective operation, providing library services, spaces, and resources that are representative of diverse cultures and perspectives, intentionally inclusive, and accessible to everyone. In providing customer service requiring reference, technology related, and basic circulation work, you may encounter situations that require de-escalation skills requiring assistance from the Library Manager or another Person-In-Charge. Your ability to exercise reasoned, mature judgement in applying and maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment is paramount.
