The City of Stanwood is among the smaller cities in Snohomish County. It is the commercial and cultural hub of the greater Stanwood/Camano community. It is characterized by high population density, a younger population, and a racially and linguistically diverse population. The Stanwood Library has retained its small-town character and sense of community. It is a research center, a job-search hub, and an array of programs for children, teens, and adults.

The Public Services Assistant performs basic public service and library support services to contribute to the Library District’s effective operation, providing library services, spaces, and resources that are representative of diverse cultures and perspectives, intentionally inclusive, and accessible to everyone. The person selected for the position will work a 15-hour per week flexible schedule including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekends including one evening a week and at least one Sunday every four weeks. Successful candidate may be required to adapt to future schedule and location changes depending on library needs.
