In Salem, community support for the Salem Public Library is demonstrated by the participation of three active support boards, a strong and committed volunteer base, and recent investments in the facility. The Salem Public Library is a division of the Community Development Department and provides library services at the Main Library in downtown Salem on the Civic Center campus and at the West Salem Branch Library. Library staff serve Salem’s 162,000 residents 53 hours a week at the Main Library and 31 hours a week at the West Salem Branch Library.
